Dr. Tanya Toft Ag is a curator and researcher examining media aesthetic trajectories of (media) art and (urban) change. She gained her doctoral degree from Copenhagen University and has taken up visiting scholarships at Columbia University, The New School, and Konstfack (CuratorLab), and MA degrees in Media Studies from The New School and in Arts and Cultural Studies - Urbanity and Aesthetics from Copenhagen University. She was curator and head of research at Screen City Biennial 2017 (Stavanger) and curator of Verve Cultural/SP Urban Digital Festival 2013 and 2014 (São Paulo). She was associate curator at Streaming Museum (NYC) where she co-curated the traveling exhibition programme Nordic Outbreak in New York City and across the Nordic region (2013-2014). She is editor of Digital Dynamics in Nordic Contemporary Art (Intellect, 2019) and co-editor of What Urban Media Art Can Do – Why, When, Where, and How? (av edition, 2016). In 2017 she co-founded the globally networked Urban Media Art Academy. She is currently a research fellow at School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong (2018-2020).
