The Digital Domestic
Curated by Aly Grimes
The Digital Domestic was a performative lecture which explored the rapidly increasing development of the ‘internet of things’ which has led to the colonisation of digital devices in the domestic environment.
Drawing inspiration from cultural theorists Hannah Arendt and Helen Hester, artist Antonio Roberts examined the impact of automation, smart devices and digital assistants on domestic labour and the radical reshaping of the way we live and communicate with one another in the home.
