Fann Xu is a Chinese/Swedish artist, designer and curator exploring emotional and sensorial relationship to material and built environment. Xu has a professional and academic background in architecture and design. Through an interdisciplinary approach to making and research, she is fascinated by the embodied experience of time and space. Fann Xu holds a BA in architecture and dance from Bennington College (US), a MFA in Design from Konstfack University of Arts, Craft and Design (SWE), as well as a MRes degree in Architecture at Royal College of Art (UK) where she explored creative writing as a tool to convey the emotional, sensorial and visceral relationship to built environment. As an artist Xu has exhibited works in the U.S. and across Europe. Fann Xu is based in Falkenberg and Stockholm and currently works at Rian designmuseum producing exhibitions and public programs. Here Xu will also curate an exhibition in 2024 on motherhood, how contemporary artists explore their own relationship to their mothers or their role as mothers.
