Maximilian Lehner is a curator, researcher, and writer from Salzburg/Austria. He studied art theory and philosophy in Paris, Stuttgart, and Linz, where he currently pursues his doctoral studies, and participated in curatorial courses at Salzburg Summer Academy and ECCA, Cluj/Art Encounters Foundation, Timișoara. Maximilian co-founded The Real Office (RO) in Stuttgart, an agency for concepts, funding, and project management in the independent art scene and works as a research and teaching assistant at the Institute of Contemporary Arts and Media at KU Linz. He develops projects with RO in Stuttgart and Salzburg, and curated/s exhibition for ElectroPutere (Craiova/Bucharest), Škuc Gallery (Ljubljana), Fünfzigzwanzig (Salzburg), BLOK (Zagreb), sehsaal (Vienna) and aqb (Budapest). His writing was published in BLOK, Kajet, Revista Arta, ETC. magazine, and Artforum as well as in artist books and academic publications. He is part of the artist collective Funduk and the curatorial conversation platform bad curating inc.
