Marta Świetlik (b. 1989) is a PhD student, UX designer and freelance curator, based in Warsaw, Poland. Her interest both curatorial and academic concerns art in public, socially engaged art, art institutions and post-artistic practices. She took part in numerous art/scientific projects both as an individual curator and leader of the Curatorial Collective (group of young scholars and curators in Cracow). Her most important curatorial works were related to the difficult Polish-Jewish heritage, translation of humanistic theories into the language of art (such as Cartesian theory, forensic art theory), the social impact of art, curating emotions and site-specific installations. In her current doctoral project, she is developing a new methodology based on UX research that allows multifaceted examination of contemporary art exhibitions and support of the exhibition design process. In her practice and research she is constantly looking for answers to the main research question: how art can be made useful?
